Hurricane Maria Update 4 – LAA/LUS
Â
Hurricane Maria is now a Category 3 storm located about 155 miles SE of Grand Turk Island. The storm is generating maximum sustained winds of 115 mph and wind gusts in excess of 140mph. It’s present movement is to the NW at 9 mph. Hurricane Warnings remain in place for the Dominican Republic, the Turks and Caicos Islands and the Southeastern Bahamas.

Operations Update:*
*This information is subject to change and will be contingent upon airport inspections and damage assessments at the impacted airports.  Inspections scheduled for later today in SJU. Inspections will  take place at PLS tomorrow.

PLS – Providenciales, Turks and Caicos
- All flights cancelled today and Sept. 22
- Tentative plans to resume service Sept. 23 pending airport inspection and damage assessment
POP – Puerto Plata
- All flights cancelled today
- Tentative plans to resume service Sept. 22 pending damage assessment
PUJ – Punta Cana
- All flights cancelled today
- Resume service Sept. 22 pending damage assessment
SDQ – Santo Domingo
- Resume service this afternoon pending damage assessment
SJU – San Juan
- All flights cancelled today
- Tentative plans to resume limited service tomorrow, Sept. 22 pending damage assessment
- Two Extra Section Relief Flights MIA-SJU-MIA, F9243/9244 (737-800) and F9680/9245 (777)
- Operations will be contingent upon airport inspection and damage assessments
STI – Santiago, Dominican Republic
- Resume operations this afternoon
STT – St. Thomas
- All flights cancelled today
- Tentative plans to resume service Sept. 23 pending damage assessment
STX – St. Croix
- All flights cancelled today
- Tentative plans to resume service Sept. 23 pending damage assessment
SXM – St. Maarten
- Operations suspended and all flights are cancelled
- Tentative plans to resume operations on Oct. 1
