11.29.17 – (LAA/LUS) – Pilot Schedule Bidding System Failure
As you may have heard, the Allied Pilots Association (APA) recently notified its members as well as APFA that thousands (up to 15,500 in the 2nd half of December) of flights currently do not have pilots assigned to fly them during the upcoming critical holiday period due to a failure within the pilots’ schedule bidding system.
APFA National President Bob Ross has been in communication with APA President Dan Carey and has informed the Company that APFA expects pay protections for any crews impacted by cancellations that could happen as a result.
APFA will be closely monitoring the situation and working to prevent any harm to Flight Attendants who may suffer as a result of yet another operational IT failure on the part of the Company.
Updates will follow as more information becomes available.
