Voluntary Leave of Absence Issues – LAA/LUS

The Company has posted the partial leaves for January, and the numbers are disappointing to say the least. When we began working with the Company, they were open to additional VLOAs as just one way to try and mitigate the incredibly high reserve numbers.

Unfortunately, due to the staffing issues that continue to plague the airline, the Company offered less leaves than anticipated. The staffing issues coupled with winter weather are still having a profound impact on the operation, and as a result, the Company was much more conservative in their leave offering.

We will continue to explore ways to offer more relief for the high reserve numbers in the latter part of January.
