Ballot Count for the National Officer Re-run Election

Ballots for the National Officer re-run election were collected today at 1000am CT. Due to the return to paper balloting, the ballot count is expected to take several hours. Results will be posted via NBC Hotline later this evening.

Upcoming Retirement Seminars – DCA and NY

The APFA Retirement Department will be conducting seminars at DCA and the NY crew bases in April and May.

• April 26^th – DCA – 1100-1400 LBT in the “Hub Gathering Room” in the Center Pier adjacent to Flight Service
• May 16^th – EWR – 1100-1400 LBT in the Conference Room adjacent to Flight Service operations
• May 17^th – JFK – 1100-1400 LBT in the Conference Level located on the Mezzanine level next to Pilot operations
• May 18^th – LGA – 1100-1400 LBT in the 3^rd floor Conference room above Flight Service operations in Hangar Three

Out of base members needing assistance with finding the meeting spaces can contact John Pennel, DCA-US Base President ([email protected]), Robert Valenta, DCA-AA Base President ([email protected]), or Raymond Lewis, LGA Base President ([email protected]) for more information.

These seminars cover a wide range of topics including: Retiree travel, Pensions, 401(k), COBRA, and Medicare.

LAA Flight Attendants can download a pension estimate from the Pension Service Center on Jetnet.

LUS Flight Attendants can request a copy of their pension estimate from the PBGC by calling 800-400-7242.

Members unable to attend the seminars are always welcome to watch the retirement webinar series available on the APFA Retirement Page, as well as download the Good Slide! retirement handout.

Everyone is welcome regardless of base or seniority.

June Investment & Estate Planning Seminar in MIA – SAVE THE DATE!

Do you have a will? What are your investment strategies for retirement planning? If you need help answering these types of questions, please save the date for an upcoming seminar! Will de Cardenas, a Financial Planner with the AA Credit Union’s Flagship Financial Group, will be hosting an Investment and Estate Planning Seminar in MIA on June 27^th. This informative and interactive seminar will be held in the Flight Service Conference room.

There will be two sessions: 1130-1300 and 1400-1530 LBT. Before each session begins, Patrick Hancock from the APFA Retirement Department will conduct a short presentation on the 401(k) and Pension. He will also be available to answer any questions pertaining to retirement.

Elevate 2018 Training Available in BOS, RDU, SFO, & STL

Elevate 2018 training will be traveling to the smaller crew bases. The current schedule is as follows:

BOS – April/May – every Monday – Thursday  (April 2- May 31st)
SFO – May/June – every Monday – Thursday (May 2nd- June 28th)
STL – June – every Monday – Thursday (June 4th- June 28th)
RDU – May 28th-31st and June 4th-7th
