Losartan Recall

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced a recall of LOSARTAN POTASSIUM HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE tablets over concerns the contaminated drug might cause cancer.

Sandoz Inc. is voluntarily recalling one lot of Losartan Potassium Hydrochlorothiazide 100 milligram/25 milligram tablets with the lot number JB8912. The contaminated medication was not distributed before Oct. 8.

Patients who are currently taking this medication are advised to speak with their health care provider before stopping, because the risk of going off of the medication might be greater than the possible cancer risk. Patients with questions about the recall can contact Sandoz Inc. at 800-525-8747 or email [email protected].

For more information about this recall, please visit https://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm625492.htmor contact your medical provider.

Most Work Comp claims will be assigned a Nurse Case Manager. The primary responsibility of the Nurse Case Manger is to assist the injured employee in obtaining appropriate medical treatment. They can also facilitate communications between your treating doctor and Sedgwick and assist you with issues or concerns regarding the medical aspects of your claim.

Hot Liquids – Don’t Pour Them!

Please remember that you should never pour liquids down the aircraft drains or sinks while the aircraft is parked / not moving under it’s own power.
Using the galley drains / sinks can cause injury to our union brothers and sisters working on the ramp. Our CLT base has shared a personal story about their experience.

You will need your Jetnet credentials to be able to access the video:  CLT Ramp Video

Senator-elect Kyrsten Sinema

Congratulations to Senator-elect Kyrsten Sinema who this week was declared winner of the Arizona Senate race. APFA has a long history of supporting Sinema dating back to when as a Congresswoman she spoke at the APFA Convention in PHX in 2016. We will be encouraging her to join the Senate Commerce Committee where she will have direct oversight of our profession.

Results of the Senate race in Florida are still undecided as Senator Bill Nelson and his opponent Governor Rick Scott move closer to a statewide recount. It is going to be controversial as the difference right now is 12,500 votes.

Congratulations to the many new and reelected members of Congress. One exciting fact is that the new Congress will have the most women ever elected. APFA looks forward to meeting with them in the 116th session.

A special congratulations to Rep. Nanette Barragan, a rising star and sister of a LAX-based APFA member, who won her reelection handily in CA-44.

We would also like to acknowledge ORD-based member Vickie Holt who ran to represent South Carolina in state district 48. We are proud and inspired by her commitment to her community.

Buddy With Property
When using the Buddy With Property, the system will apply waivers to the follower if necessary to complete a legal line. If you are the follower, and the system deems it necessary to apply waivers to complete your bid, the waivers may be applied to sequences not relevant to the buddy bid. This means that once you are a follower, all applicable waivers may be applied.
Reserve or Lineholder?

Remember if you are a reserve status in the PBS dashboard, but in the LRD you were tentative and wanted to be a lineholder, you were a reserve trying to bid off of reserve but were unsuccessful or the most  junior on reserve, please submit 7 layers for reserve and as a lineholder, in case more lines become available.Alin Boswell, Julie Hedrick, Linda Haertling, Vicki Balistreri, APFA Joint Scheduling Implementation Committee, [email protected]
