Cabin ASAP
The Cabin ASAP program is a three party safety program comprised of the FAA the APFA and American Airlines. All three parties collaborate and must reach consensus on every report that is submitted.
During the partial government shut down, our FAA representatives on the ASAP program are not able to report to work. All reports that have been submitted to Cabin ASAP have received an email at their company email address advising them that their report will be processed as soon as the government reopens.
APFA representatives on the Cabin ASAP program may reach out to Flight Attendants to gather more information about their event so that when the program is back up and running, reports can be processed as quickly as possible.
Please continue submitting your safety concerns to the Cabin ASAP Program, knowing that your safety concerns will be addressed as expeditiously as possible.
Questions or concerns, can be directed to the APFA Cabin ASAP Event Review Committee members at [email protected]

Standing with TSA
The Federal Government remains closed as lawmakers have not yet reached an agreement on funding. TSA employees are working without pay and are reportedly starting to call out sick because they literally cannot afford to go to work. No one at TSA has missed a paycheck yet, but they will on Friday. It remains unknown what will happen after that but it is possible that check-in lines will lengthen significantly.
“We are particularly concerned about the thousands of TSA workers and FAA inspectors as the shutdown inevitably begins to impact our transportation system. Working men and women often live paycheck to paycheck with little reserves left to fall back on. ….. Our elected officials must redouble their efforts to reopen and fund our federal government.” –APFA President Lori Bassani.

Next time you fly, thank the TSA employees. Call your elected officials to urge them to reopen the Government.

Increased Speaker and Staffing Complement
Beginning in February, IPD sequences in CLT and PHL that require speakers will be staffed with 2 speakers (1 per cabin). Please adjust your current and standing bid especially if you only bid certain positions as it may impact your award.
For Flight Attendants based in UDC (LUS DCA), there will be some sequences that will be staffed with 4 Flight Attendants. If you have a standing bid that only bids 3 positions you may want to include the extra position.

As of today, there have been 4,924 Flight Attendants who have filed uniform reaction reports.
Please continue to utilize the Uniform Reaction Report Form on the APFA website if you experience a suspected reaction to your uniform.
