First Presidential Grievance of 2019

A Presidential Grievance regarding the company’s improper implementation and programming of contractual language was filed February 26, 2019.  The Presidential Grievance specifically addresses 3 areas:

1) Positive Contact for Reserve Assignments
2) Reserve Call Out Time
3) Priority of Assignment/Transfer of Trips Out of Base

The Board of Directors Annual Convention will be held March 4-7, 2019. Members in good standing are welcome to attend all open portions of the meeting.

APFA and Airline Ambassadors International (AAI), a nonprofit organization have been on the forefront of human trafficking awareness and training.

Human trafficking is happening every day making it the second largest crime in the world behind drug trafficking. Traffickers often use the convenience of commercial aviation to transport victims, and as Flight Attendants who know our aircraft and our passengers, we can often sense when something is not right.

Flight Attendants, spouses and dependents enrolled in the Standard, Value or PPO 80/90/100 medical options will pay a $20 copay for a visit; those in the Core option will pay the full cost until the deductible has been met, then 20 percent coinsurance.

•  Recoding of absences
•  Ensure salary continuance is submitted
•  Make any necessary travel arrangements
•  Case management follow-up
•  Collaborating with Sedgwick and the Nurse Case Managers
