APFA Secures Pay Protections for Flight Attendants during Suspended Venezuela Service
APFA has secured pay protections for Flight Attendants impacted by the Caracas (CCS) and Maracaibo (MAR) suspensions during political unrest in the region. The Pilots’ Union, APA, refused to fly the trips and we stood by them 100% to ensure our crews were not put into harm’s way, as the U. S. State Department issued a Level 4 Travel Advisory. In a one-time exception to Section 10.J of the 2014 AA/APFA Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement (JCBA), Flight Attendants will be pay protected for any flight cancellations between March 8-11, 2019 which are directly related to the suspension, until the suspension is lifted. This exception will apply to cancelled segments, cancelled duty periods and full sequence cancellations provided respective requirements are fulfilled.
