AA’s Misleading Comments Regarding “Disrupting Everyday Bias” Training
As was mentioned in the April 4, 2019 Safety & Security Hotline, APFA’s position remains that “Disrupting Everyday Bias” training is a corporate mandate and has no place in the Safety & Security Training during our annual recurrent CQ Training.
Our JCBA – Section 2.QQ – clearly spells out that “recurrent training” is annual FAA required recurrent training. Additionally the JCBA – Section 29.E.2 – defines the contractual obligations of the company when it comes to compensation for non-recurrent classroom training. The company is bundling this diversity training within the CQ program in an effort to eliminate our non-recurrent training pay of $75.00.
While Jill Surdek may be “disappointed” to read the comments in our hotline, APFA is disappointed that the company continues to try to take money out of the pockets of our Flight Attendants.
A grievance has been filed and is headed for arbitration.
In Unity,
Liz Geiss
