UBL Update: Generic Criteria and Processing
Generic Criteria Update
JCBA Section 10.F.3.b states sequences will be immediately processed through UBL. Following that, it is sent to Reserve Processing (JCBA Section 12.K.2.a.).
Before the implementation of Generic Bidding, we requested Crew Schedule hold trips for up to an hour when operationally possible. This was to provide Flight Attendants the opportunity more time to see and bid for open sequences.Since the addition of the bidding criteria mentioned above, we have requested that Crew Schedule no longer hold trips and process them according to the JCBA.
Keep in mind, “immediate” is not always the moment a trip opens. Crew Schedule must follow a strict processing timeline when running newly opened sequences through UBL and ROTA/ROTD. UBL and ROTA/ROTD processing must be completed prior to running a newly opened sequence through UBL.
