Alert: Delay in PBS Bidding Timeline
Dear Fellow Flight Attendants,
As our Company navigates through this coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, there will be changes to our bid timeline and schedules moving forward. Rest assured that we are in constant contact with management on many fronts: to minimize the exposure and health risk to our members and to protect pay and scheduling for our members during this fluid situation.
As you are aware, AA announced reductions to our April flight schedules due to declining customer travel demand to certain destinations. Subsequently, many trip sequences that were already published need to be modified. Please note that the bid sheets previously printed are inaccurate and should not be used. New bid sheets will be posted online, time to be announced by the company.
APRIL PBS Bidding will open Friday, March 13 at 1200 CT
APRIL BIDS will close Wednesday, March 18 at 1200 CT
For a more detailed explanation of these changes, please see the company’s CCI message released on March 10 at about 11:20 am CT.
The bidding window will be adjusted as follows:
Voluntary leave options are available system-wide to mitigate the loss of flying and many have taken advantage of VLOAs. A new option, the VOLO option (offers a zero-hour line) is now being offered at every base. That window closes at 0800 CT March 12.
Additional information regarding VOLOs can be found in the March 8 CCI message from crew planning.
The PBS Award challenge window for calling FABRC is now March 21-27.
I want each of you to know that we are working with the company to present and look at all options to protect our health, our flying, and our jobs. As this situation is very dynamic, I will continue to update you as changes occur and new information becomes available. Thank you for your continued patience and professionalism as we work through these trying times.
In Unity and Solidarity,
Lori L. Bassani
APFA National President
