May 2020 Allocations
Hello ORD! We want to thank everyone for your patience as we move thru these challenging times. We will get a regular Base Brief out soon, but wanted the Allocation information (what little we have) out as soon as possible.
The May Allocation meeting was today, Friday. The final numbers for NSL/lineholder/reserve will not be available until the LRD closes 4/11. It will likely be 4/12 before we have the totals.
We all know the MAY schedule is getting a dramatic pull down. For example, we usually have 10+ banks of flying. In May there will be 3 banks 5 days a week and 2 banks on Tuesday and Saturday. There will still be some flying to/from the hubs outside the bank structure.
For May, the company was trying to minimize layovers and reduce sequence length in an effort to better handle exposure and disruptions thru the month. That said the majority of the sequences system wide are 2-days and the number of turns has been reduced.
Specifically for ORD, we addressed 2-days with long, 3-leg duty and the lack of commutable trips. On the ugly 2-day trips, we asked for turns to be pulled off one day or the other to create a more livable trip. No promises were made for May changes, but the company will address these concerns June and moving forward. Every base shared a similar frustration with trip build.
1 day…..18.4%
2 day……78.5%
3 day……3.1%
4 day…….0%
ODAN……0.4%
NIPD…there are 2day seq mostly thru MIA and 1 CUN turn
As always we are available for your comments and questions.
Be kind to one another! Stay safe!
