Benefits During a Paid Voluntary Leave of Absence (PVLOA)
Coverage Changes
Your APFA Health Department has received confirmation that Flight Attendants taking a 3, 6, 9, or 12-month PVLOA will have the option to drop benefits coverage and dependents. Coverage may be dropped in totality by plan, not processed as a change in plans. You may contact the Benefits Service Center at 888-860-6178 after May 1st, regarding this change.
Medical Premiums
The Company is working on a process to proactively identify Flight Attendants who will not have all or a portion of their benefit premiums covered by the 19 hours pay. The Benefits Service Center will be reaching out to Flight Attendants that fall into this category. Direct billing will be arranged to ensure all premiums are covered, and there are no gaps in coverage. These bills will be sent out in mid-May and will cover billing for both May and June. If you do not receive a bill, and find that your 19 hours pay does not cover some portion of your benefits, please contact the Benefits Service Center at 888-860-6178 or @ my.aa.com.
