APFA BOS Base Brief – May 2020
What a whirlwind couple of months we have had. Amy and I appreciate all of your patience, kind words and bearing with the innumerable changes that have been happening daily as we navigate this uncharted territory. We hope that you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy. The Boston Base has always been a family and we will continue to support one another through this tough time.
We wanted to send out a few reminders to the Base as we move forward into May.
1-Month PVLOA & 70-Hour PVLOA Leave Options for June
We have an overage of Flight Attendants for June. The Company is offering a new 19-hour one-month Paid Voluntary Leave of Absence (PVLOA) in addition to a new 70-hour one-month PVLOA. Please check your CCI or APFA messages for more details. If you have any additional questions, please contact Amy or Kelli.
APFA Unemployment Benefits Resource Page
APFA has added a new resource for Flight Attendants who are looking for more information about unemployment benefits:Â APFA Unemployment Benefits Resource Page
Paychecks
Please be sure to look over your paychecks. We have had several Letters of Agreements (LOA) regarding Pay Protections since MAR. Closeout for April will take place on May 8th.
If you feel there is an error in your HI1/HI2 please, send a message to DirectConnect via the Flight Service Website.
Crew Scheduling
As a Lineholder if Crew Scheduling calls me at home or on my layover am I obligated to answer the call?
As a general rule of thumb, please let the call go to voicemail, then check your messages. On a layover, you are not obligated to show up until sign in for your next scheduled flight. If you do call CS back, you are only speaking for yourself, not your entire crew.
Professional Standards
Erin Stitcher, our wonderful Professional Standards Rep has taken the 9 month leave through January 2021. Enjoy your time off Erin, we will miss you. Should you need to contact BOS Professional Standards during this time please call Amy or Kelli. All calls are confidential.
EAP (Employee Assistance Program)
Please don’t hesitate reach out if you need any assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic. Whether it’s financial, emotional, health related, depression, drug & alcohol or loneliness, there are people who care and are available to help.
