Remembering AA Flight 1420: Twenty-One Years Later
Today commemorates the twenty-first anniversary of American Airlines Flight 1420 from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, which overran the runway upon landing during a thunderstorm at Little Rock National Airport.
The Captain, along with ten passengers, perished in the crash. The four Flight Attendants, the First Officer, and 105 passengers received severe or minor injuries. Twenty-four passengers were not injured.
AA Flight 1420 is a reminder of the significance of our career as Flight Attendants in quickly and safely evacuating passengers from an airplane. 134 of the 145 souls onboard the MD-82 aircraft survived. Please take a moment and remember those that lost their lives and also those who survived.
