Save My Job: Tell Congress to
Extend Aviation Payroll Support Program Immediately!

APFA and our fellow Unions are working with Congress to extend the Payroll Support Program (PSP) that passed as part of the CARES Act. Aviation workers across the country urgently need an extension of this lifeline that has successfully stabilized our industry and kept essential workers like us both employed and covered by our health insurance. Importantly, the program required that the payroll grants pass through directly to frontline workers while restricting executive compensation and stock buybacks. Read our joint union letter to Congress.

The APFA Government Affairs Department has raised this issue to the highest levels in Congress, and this week our supporters are leading the charge to extend the PSP for six more months. Thank you to Chairman Peter DeFazio, Chairman Rick Larsen, Rep. Sharice Davids, Rep. Karen Bass, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, Rep. Rodney Davis, and Rep. John Katko for standing behind hundreds of thousands of US aviation workers who have been serving on the frontlines of this pandemic since day one. Now it is up to us to encourage the rest of Congress to join in support of this extension.

Contact the Representatives that you vote for and make sure they are supporting you, your family, and your job. As the airlines plan reductions for October, our jobs, careers, and quality of life are on the line. Every single US aviation worker will be affected somehow, from the most senior to the most junior. We must activate as 27,000 strong and make our voice louder than it has ever been before. The time is now.

It takes 5 minutes a day to fight for your job. Airlines are sending out WARN Act notices, as required by law before any potential mass layoffs. The clock is ticking for Congress to address the expiring PSP. We need to flood these offices with messages and calls so that an extension of PSP becomes their top priority. All of us need to need to take action. Write to your Representatives and make three quick calls every day until the PSP extension is included in the July stimulus bill.
