7.23.20 – APFA ORD Base Brief
Thursday, July 23, 2020
Hello ORD Flight Attendants:
The APFA Telephone Town Hall was held on Wednesday. Over 5,000 Flight Attendants dialed in for a great information session for all things VEOP/EVLOA. The audio and full list of Q&A’s will be available on the APFA website soon. There has been some feedback regarding problems with the initial call and ability to leave a question. HDQ is testing a new format for the next call. We are also planning smaller base remote Town Hall meetings. Please stay tuned for those dates and times.
The ORD Retirement Seminar planned for August has been postponed. Duran Allen, from the AA Federal Credit Union Flagship Financial Group, was always a featured speaker. Duran and his team remain available for Retirement planning questions.
If you are having trouble getting thru to AA Benefits with questions, please email [email protected].
Many are asking what Reserve will look like after October 1st. While there are too many moving pieces to give an accurate number now, it is safe to say Reserve will reach a much higher seniority after October. Keep in mind the remaining active Flight Attendant will likely all be on a 1-on/3-off rotation. That will pull a large group on Reserve. We are just trying to be realistic about what our work life will be for the foreseeable future. The stress that goes along with uncertain monthly schedules with the added possibility of Reserve must be part of your decision process when evaluating the VEOP/EVLOA options.
APFA received late notice of the August schedule cancellations. The cancellations will be for flights operating between July 31st and August 28th and will be in FOS on Sunday, July 26th, with sequence repairs scheduled to begin the same day. TTS and ETB for August will open as scheduled. For more information, please reference last Tuesday’s hotline by clicking here.
The Company is strengthening their face covering requirement for customers beginning Wednesday, July 29th. Please read mobileCCI for all updates. Continue to fill out CERS reports for all non-compliant behavior. Be sure to include as many details as possible in the report including seat number, name and details of any conversation with the passenger.
As always, we remain available for questions. Be kind to one another, and stay safe.
In Solidarity,
Susan Wroble
