Allocations Information

September pairings are similar to August pairings. Optimizer programming has remained status quo with an emphasis on turns, two-day, and three-day trips.

Three-day trips are being built for commutability to the extent possible. We realize that commutable trips have decreased this summer due to pandemic programming adjustments, and we will continue to advocate for commuter Flight Attendants. The base was allocated 149,549 hours for September a loss of 19,050 hours from August. Bid jobs are down as a result of the pull-down in seasonal flying. HKG, HND, GUA, and YVR were canceled for September, which also contributed to a loss of hours and bid jobs. Overall, block hours are down 59% from September 2019 at DFW.

APFA leadership tried to gain some insight for October’s Optimizer programming, and significant changes may be implemented. The Allocations department could not provide details as Network Planning has not finalized October’s schedule. Available headcount will also contribute to programming adjustments if needed.
