Save Our Jobs – Extend the Payroll Support Program NOW!

Congress and the White House overwhelming support an extension of the Payroll Support Program, but for this to happen, we urgently need to pass a stimulus bill. Tell Congress to get to work! It’s time to seal the deal. APFA members, we must act. Let’s push this extension over the finish line.

Here are daily actions you can contribute every day this week. These are actions that anyone can take from home, a layover, or sit time. We all have to pitch in to get this done.

Write a ‘Letter to the Editor’

Let’s harness the power of the media! Due to the upcoming election, politicians are keeping a close eye on their voting bases. Make sure they know that aviation workers are counting on them to save our jobs. Look up how to submit ‘letter to the editor’ in your local paper. It is easy to do!

Example to use or inspire you:

I am an American Airlines Flight Attendant based in ____ and have been flying for ___ years.
This pandemic is the worst crisis to hit the industry in the history of commercial aviation. Congress passed the Payroll Support Program (PSP) to save jobs and stabilize our industry. It has been our lifeline.

However, thousands of jobs will disappear on October 1 if Congress does not extend the PSP soon.

Aviation is essential to a strong economy, including our local economy here in _____. This is why Congress overwhelming supports an extension of the PSP. But it can only happen if Congress and the White House negotiate and pass a stimulus bill.

Washington: do your job so I can do mine. Americans will be ready to travel again, but for this to happen, aviation workers must be ready, too.
