Letter of Agreement:
Modified A321T Premium Pay for 3-Class Transcon Flights
Hello Everyone,
As you know, the Company announced staffing reductions on select aircraft beginning with the October bid month. A hotline released on September 14th outlined the changes, addressed the unreasonable workload placed on Flight Attendants, and announced the filing of a Presidential Staffing Grievance.
With the removal of the sixth Flight Attendant on the A321T Transcon Flights, the Purser/Lead Flight Attendant will now have galley responsibilities as well as the current Purser responsibilities. The galley Flight Attendant being removed received a galley premium outlined in the JCBA. Through a Letter of Agreement with the Company, we have now shifted that premium pay to the Purser/Lead Flight Attendant until staffing is properly restored:
In July, APFA signed a letter with TWU-556, representing Southwest Flight Attendants, and AFA-CWA which put airline management on notice: no concessions. Removal of the galley pay would have reduced the cost of the current JCBA. That joint letter may be found here.
We will update you as the Presidential Staffing Grievance moves forward.
In Solidarity,
Julie Hedrick
APFA National President
