Allocations Information
The Allocations department took our feedback and made some programming adjustments for November. Some of the changes include a maximum three legs per duty on multi-day pairings, a duty day will not be longer than the prior night’s rest and four-day trips built with an emphasis on commutability. All improvements may have a few pairings that do not meet the new criteria. Five-leg duty days have been eliminated for November; however, four-leg turns remain.
We once again stressed to the Company that four-leg turns should not contain excessive sit-time and if possible, Flight Attendants prefer to stay on the same aircraft all day. We provided the allocations department a list of four-leg trips for modification, among other concerns. Other trip construction issues we addressed include, excessive legs per duty, long duty days, lengthy sit/connect times, and lack of commutable trips. We understand the current pairings are difficult and demanding and as always will continue to fight for improvements. To be honest, they are still not a “Quality of Life” that we want for DFW.
DFW block hours for November are down 51.2% year over year. System block hours are down 57.2% year over year. The base was allocated 159,795 hours for November an increase of 8,309 hours from October. Flight Attendants can expect the same type of Thanksgiving flying schedule/pattern as in years past. Flying will be pull-down before the holiday and then ramped-up after Thanksgiving Day. Some pairings may have longer layovers due to these schedule changes.
