Save Our Jobs – Support the Economy!

This week marks two months since 7,985 APFA members and thousands of other US aviation workers were unnecessarily furloughed. We have a window of opportunity in the lame duck session to get Congress back on track. With the election behind us, we must demand that our Representatives get back to work and extend the Payroll Support Program. It is unacceptable that we have broad bipartisan support for this extension, yet no action to show for it. The White House has punted relief legislation to Congress, so it’s time to turn the heat on our Senators and Representatives to finally pass an extension of the PSP by any means possible.

We need your help to get this done! Your activism is the pressure we will need to pass an extension of the PSP. Our strength is in our numbers. We must be persistent – take two actions every day this week.

Hello, my name is ______ and I am an American Airlines Flight Attendant of ___ years. My colleagues and I have been on the frontline of this pandemic since Day 1, but for the past two months thousands of us have been disconnected from our jobs and healthcare. We need immediate Congressional action to extend the Payroll Support Program to save our jobs. But Congress must act soon.

We are close to developing a successful vaccine, but for this pandemic to end the aviation industry must be able to distribute it. Airline industry employment cannot simply be brought back overnight. Therefore, it is essential that the Payroll Support Program is extended now. A strong aviation industry is the economic driver we will need to build back our economy. NOW is the time to invest in the jobs that will keep the industry and the economy strong. Thank you for supporting aviation workers like me.
