We Are Close – But We Are Not Finished
Keep Up The Calls This Week!
Congress continues to negotiate an emergency relief package, but an agreement has not yet been finalized. Americans need immediate relief, and Congress is also up against a government funding deadline. We need action NOW. Get on the phone lines today – your Representatives need to hear from you.
Here is a sample script to use in your calls and emails:
Hello, my name is ______, and I am an American Airlines Flight Attendant and APFA union member. My colleagues and I have been on the frontline of this pandemic since Day 1, but for the past two and a half months, thousands of us have been disconnected from our jobs and healthcare. Please pass emergency relief that includes extending the Payroll Support Program.
We are now in the widespread distribution of the vaccine, but for this pandemic to end, the aviation industry must be prepared for distribution. Airline industry employment cannot simply be brought back overnight. This is why the Payroll Support Program must be extended now. A strong aviation industry is the economic driver we will need to build back our economy. NOW is the time to invest in the jobs that will keep the industry and the economy healthy. Thank you for supporting aviation workers like me.
In Solidarity,
Allie Malis

Please remember, we have 7,985 involuntarily furloughed Flight Attendants at American Airlines.
