Recalled Flight Attendant Dues Obligations
Over the last few weeks, the APFA dues department has received calls and emails asking about the requirement to pay dues as a recalled Member.
Per the APFA Constitution, Article II Section 4.B (3), a Member in good standing will remain in good standing and will be exempt from his / her dues obligation to the APFA when the member is in an unpaid status from his / her employer in excess of thirty (30) consecutive days. For the timeframe in which you received furlough pay, you are obligated to pay dues.
Furloughed Members were considered furloughed from October 3, 2020 until December 1, 2020, as a result of the retroactive language associated with the Payroll Support Program. Those members who have accrued a past due balance while on furlough due to their ineligibility for furlough pay, may be entitled to forgiveness of those past dues upon recall. Forgiveness will be credited to those accounts by February 1, 2021.
How do I check my dues balance?
First, sign onto apfa.org, and click on ‘My Account’ in the upper left-hand corner.
Once you have signed into your account, click on ‘balance’, and your dues balance will appear. You may also make payments here as well.
The dues department will be auditing all balances and will zero out forgiven balances by February 1, 2021. If you still have a balance after February 1, 2021, or receive a statement in the mail after February 1, 2021, please reach out to the APFA dues department by clicking here. They may also be reached at [email protected], or at (817) 540-0108 ext. 8151.
If you are unable to log into the website, you may contact the membership department at [email protected], or at (817) 540-0108 ext. 8153.
