Annual Vacation Buyback Process Closes Tomorrow

In accordance with JCBA Section 8.F, the annual vacation buyback process will close tomorrow, Friday, January 15, at 1200 (CST). The awards will be posted by Wednesday, January 20, at 1200 (CST).

You have the option to buy back any or all accrued vacation. Vacation buyback is awarded by base in seniority order and up to the allowed maximum per base. A minimum of 5.5% of the total annual base accrual will be offered for buyback per JCBA Section 8.F.1. You do not need to be in an active status to participate in the buyback. However, Flight Attendants currently on an EVLOA or STLOA are not eligible to participate. Flight Attendants on a PVLOA or PLOA may participate in vacation buyback.

Vacation buyback days are not eligible for premium pay and will be paid at the daily rate based on the number of days awarded in the buyback. Buyback will be paid out on the mid-month paycheck in June 2021.

• Six (6) days or less of vacation are paid at 3.5 hours per day.
• Seven (7) days or more of vacation are paid at 4.0 hours per day.

Pay is based on your applicable JCBA hourly rate at the time of the annual buyback is paid.
