US Airways Flight 1549: The Miracle on the Hudson
“Twelve Years Later”
We remember the day.
We remember their actions.
We remember the miracle.
On January 15, 2009, Captain Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger and First Officer Jeffrey Skiles made an emergency water landing in the Hudson River after multiple bird strikes into both engines shortly after takeoff. The crew exhibited both professionalism and heroism while successfully landing and evacuating the US Airways A320 aircraft in the Hudson.

On this twelfth anniversary, we honor the Flight Attendants and Pilots of Flight 1549. Flight Attendants Doreen Welsh, Donna Dent, and Sheila Dail defined the true meaning of being a First Responder. Their acts of heroism continue to bring respect and honor to the Flight Attendant profession.
