May 2021 – April 2022 Vacation Bidding
When bidding for the 2021-2022 vacation year, you may be bidding based on different categories of days that you have available. Accrued days are based on the 2020 calendar year, your seniority, and your activity for that year. If you were active for 15 days of a month or flew at least 40 hours for the month, you accrued vacation for that month. Flight Attendants on an Extended Voluntary Leave (EVLOA) and a Short-Term Leave of Absence (STLOA) do not accrue vacation days for the duration of the leave. To view your accrued vacation days in 2020, go to your Crew Portal, click on Monthly Bids > Vacation > Accrual > Last year : 2020. The accrued days in 2020 will appear in your Original Accrual section of the Vacation section. These days will be bid during the Primary Round of vacation bidding.
- Accrued Days: These are days you earned in the calendar year before the annual bid process (e.g., earned in the calendar year 2020 for use in May 2021 – April 2022) are always bid in the Primary Round of bidding.
- Carry Forward Days: Vacation days not taken in the previous fiscal year due to unforeseen circumstances; carry forward days will be awarded/assigned during the Secondary Round of annual vacation bidding. The exception is unused filler days, which do not carry forward, but are paid out at the end of the fiscal year.

Flight Attendants on Paid Voluntary Leave of Absence (PVLOA)
If you previously took a PVLOA or are currently on a PVLOA, your vacation not used during the PVLOA footprint will be paid out on February 15, 2021. You will be able to participate in the annual vacation bid. Days accrued for the annual bid process will be eligible for bidding in the Primary Round.
If you have any questions regarding the number of days in any category, please email: [email protected] for assistance. Additionally, please review the Flight Attendant Vacation User Guide.
Flight Attendants on Extended Voluntary Leave of Absence (EVLOA)
If you are on an EVLOA, your scheduled vacation during your EVLOA footprint has been carried forward for use upon your return to active status. You will be able to participate in the annual vacation bid. Days accrued prior to the EVLOA will be eligible for bidding in the Primary Round and days carried forward/unscheduled will be eligible for the Secondary Round of the annual vacation bid process. You will want to participate in the annual vacation bidding process to have days scheduled even if your EVLOA extends through the entire vacation year. This will help ensure you have vacation scheduled in the event you are returned to active status prior to the EVLOA expiration date.
Once the Primary Vacation Bids have been awarded, you will see your carried forward/unscheduled days available for bidding in the Secondary Round. If you have any questions regarding the number of days in any category, please email: [email protected] for assistance. Additionally, please review the Flight Attendant Vacation User Guide.
Flight Attendants on Short-Term Leave of Absence (STLOA)
If you are on an STLOA, your scheduled vacation during your STLOA footprint has been carried forward for use upon your return to active status. Days accrued prior to the STLOA will be eligible for bidding in the Primary Round and days carried forward/unscheduled will be eligible for the Secondary Round of the annual vacation bid process.
Flight Attendants Returning from Furlough
While on furlough in October and November, you did not accrue vacation. If you also had unused vacation days that fell during the furlough period, or during December 2020 through March 2021, and you did not choose to have the days paid out, you will see those days in the Unscheduled Balance area. These days will be bid during the Secondary Round of vacation bidding.
For those Flight Attendants who opted to sell their accrued vacation and or scheduled vacation, you were paid for the days on your “final” paycheck.
If you are returning to active flying status in March, and you have vacation scheduled for April, you can participate in the Monthly Rebid to move them to other available vacation days in April or May. Rebidding for vacation days is awarded in seniority order.
