Allocations Information

We are happy to say that the flying at DFW will increase 25% for March. The base was allocated an additional 33,482 pay hours from what we had in February. The increase in flying will be incorporated into a variety of pairings. Many spring break routes will return, some new destinations have been added. IPD seasonal flying commences with the 28MAR schedule change. The base will see the return of FCO, MAD, SCL, PEK (via ICN) with an additional service to HNL and OGG. We hope this is the end of the constraints caused by the pandemic and that our flying is once more returning to our amazing base.

The base did see some improvement in paring construction and percentage of sequences for March. Many concerns that we provided feedback to the allocations department were addressed. Turns have increased, and many of our high-time turns have returned. Layovers with less than 11 hours of rest have decreased by 3% on domestic and NIPD pairings. Two-day trips have a variety of short and long layovers. The base leadership continues to advocate for a decrease in four-day pairings, excessive sit/connect times, and various commutable pairings.

We are excited to welcome back our furloughed brothers and sisters who are reporting to base in March. We look forward to seeing them back out on the line. We are hopeful that all our furloughed colleagues will be returning soon.

DFW was allocated 222,099 hours for March. STL was assigned 5,344 hours for the satellite, and AUS was allotted 1,188 hours. The total hours allocated to DFW is 228,631, an increase of 40,014 from February. The block hours are down 16.4% year-over-year at DFW and 40.4% systemwide. The airline is flying almost 60% of its schedule compared to March 2020. We hope to continue to see the trend of increased hours for the base in the months ahead and advocate for a better quality of life for DFW.
