Allocations Information

We are very excited to welcome back our furloughed brothers and sisters who are reporting to base in April, and we look forward to seeing them back out on the line. This is great news as the airline industry continues to make its way back after being affected by the Pandemic. What wonderful news that the PSP has passed and those who may have furloughed again can now breathe and now spread their wings and fly.

With our IPD flying making its way back, we are excited to say that ICN is now back to seven (7) days a week. DFW will also see a DFW-SEA-LHR pairing only on Wednesdays, along with CDG, EZE FCO, FRA, GRU, ICN-PVG, LHR, LIM, MAD, NRT and SCL. Our NIPD we will see new or returning pairings with BJX, SAP, TGU and QRO. We are very hopeful that we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, which was caused by the Pandemic and that our flying is once more returning back to our amazing base.

The base did see some improvement in paring construction and percentage of sequences for April. Many concerns that we provided feedback to the allocations department were addressed. Turns on the 3FA and 4FA solution look good, not as much sit time and many times FAs sit with the aircraft; however, turns did decrease for April, unfortunately, but we continue to advocate and push for an increase. Excessive sit time with one plane change remains status quo on four leg turns, the biggest improvement is some 4-leg turns are high time (7+ hours). We continue to advocate for our NIPD turns to return, as well as more of our domestic high time turns. Layovers with less than 11 hours of rest have decreased by 2.2% on domestic and NIPD pairings. Two-day trips have a variety of short and long layovers. The base leadership continues to advocate for a decrease in four-day pairings, excessive sit/connect times, and a variety of commutable pairings.

DFW was allocated 270,345 hours for April. STL was assigned 5,282 hours for the satellite, and AUS was allotted 1,223 hours. The total hours allocated to DFW is 276,850, an increase of 48,219 from March. The block hours are down 12.6% year over year at DFW and 36.6% systemwide. The airline is flying almost 63% of its schedule compared to April 2020. We hope to continue to see the trend of increased hours for the base in the months ahead and will continue to advocate for a better quality of life for DFW. In April, DFW has a bank cancellation on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, it is an evening bank (bank eight).
