APFA BOS Base Brief – April 2021
Spring is in the air! Boy has it been one heck of a year. We are looking forward to seeing things return to a “new normal” both here in Boston and throughout the airline industry. First and foremost, welcome back to our newest group of returning furloughed Flight Attendants and to those returning from leaves of absence beginning in April.
A changing of the guards, so to speak, is taking place for APFA Leadership at all bases beginning on April 1st. On behalf of the entire base, Amy and I would like to thank our outgoing Base Council Representatives (BCRs), Sherry Kelly and Brian O’Connell, for their hard work and dedication to our Base Membership over the past two years. You are both truly appreciated.
Many thanks to our incoming BCRs, Mary Benton, Michelle Ferragamo, Devyn Gourley, and Julia Simpson, for stepping up to assist your fellow Flight Attendants. We are so lucky to have your past APFA leadership experience and knowledge of the JCBA in Boston.

While You Were Gone: Reminders
PBS Misawards: If you believe you have a misaward, be sure to fill out the form as soon as possible on the Crew Portal page (Crew Portal > Links > Support). Please do not make any changes to your schedule until you hear back from them.
Irregular Operations at Home Base: If you have a lengthy delay or perhaps your flight has been rescheduled to the next day, be sure to contact Crew Tracking before you leave the airport. As a reminder, an unscheduled delay of four (4) or more hours entitles you to a hotel room, even in BOS.
Hotel/Van Transportation: Per JCBA 6.C.2: At points other than the Flight Attendant’s crew base, where the Company’s scheduled or prearranged transportation is not available within twenty (20) minutes after such is requested by the Flight Attendant, the Flight Attendant will be authorized to take alternate transportation to the hotel. On overnights scheduled for less than ten (10) hours and thirty (30) minutes, transportation shall be available within ten (10) minutes and the twenty (20) minute wait set forth above shall not apply.
Please refer to the JCBA language in Section 6 for transportation expenses and reimbursement information.
MA Sick Hours: If you have questions or concerns regarding your MA Sick Time or your remaining balance of hours, please email: [email protected]
Professional Standards: The APFA Professional Standards is a voluntary, confidential service offering members the opportunity to resolve conflicts or concerns without management involvement. Please continue to look out for and take care of one another. We’ve come so far, and we will get through this together. Fly safely and stay healthy.
In Solidarity,
Amy & Kelli
