PBS Bidding Alert: Bidding Lineholder and Reserve
If you are designated as a Reserve when PBS opens, it is important to also bid as a Lineholder.
With furloughed Flight Attendants returning to active status, the number of bidders moved to Lineholder status could be much larger than usual. Some of the recalls may not have returned to active status in time for LRD but will be included in the PBS bid. Recalls will likely be on Reserve, which means that many Flight Attendants showing Reserve when PBS opens will ultimately be moved to Lineholders when PBS begins processing.
In PBS, you can bid seven layers as a Lineholder and seven layers as a Reserve. Please take time to review your standing bid as well if you have not updated it recently.
If you were in either the tentative or Reserve grouping and toggled to āPref LHāĀ and could not hold Lineholder status, you would be the first (in seniority order) to move to Lineholder status.
The following is the priority order of Reserves that would be moved to Lineholder status:
- Tentative Flight Attendants who were involuntarily moved to Reserve status.
- Reserve Flight Attendants who toggled to āPref LHāĀ in LRD who were unable to hold Lineholder status in LRD.
- Most junior Reserve Flight Attendants involuntarily moved to Lineholder status after all the above have been utilized.
It is important to remember you can have a standing bid as a Lineholder or a Reserve.Ā Ā If you do not add a Lineholder bid for the current month but have a standing bid in, it will be used if you are moved from Reserve to Lineholder in PBS processing.
