Workers Memorial Day
Since 1989, Unions have been observing April 28th as Workers Memorial Day. It is a day of remembrance and action for workers killed, disabled, injured, or made unwell by their work. April 28th is the anniversary of the date the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 went into effect, and when the Occupational Safety and Health Administration was formed.
APFA along with other labor Unions continue work with the FAA, OSHA and the airlines to continue the push for a safe and healthy working environment.
Our industry has fundamentally changed, and the effects of this pandemic on our profession are not over. On this Workers Memorial Day, we remember and honor those Flight Attendants who lost their lives while protecting the safety of others.
