New York Courtesy Transportation
For far too long, New York LGA Flight Attendants have had to contend with the possibility of losing courtesy transportation in a less safe environment. At the same time, we continue to be a tri-terminal base. Crime has risen, and we work through a pandemic with less rest and more responsibilities while late night and early morning transportation is sketchy at best.
Today, it gives me great comfort to be able to tell you that our courtesy transportation will continue, as it is today, with the addition of the ability to request an evening ON-DEMAND shuttle from EWR, LGA, and JFK to NYC when defined circumstances exist. The company will publish details early next week. I am grateful to National President Julie Hedrick and National Vice President Larry Salas for quickly responding to this urgent matter, along with LGA Base Vice President Penelope King.
We are a Unionized workgroup, and sometimes tricky times demand we find common ground that unifies us. Unions were founded on vision and balance. I thank every one of you who supported our case with your emails and personal stories.
Please allow APFA HDQ some time to finalize details and share this information via an Official APFA hotline. I wanted to get this out as soon as possible as I know the Jun TTS run is approaching and allow you all time to factor in all variables when planning your June schedules.
In Solidarity,
