APFA BOS Base Brief – June 2021
We hope everyone has been finding ways to beat the heat over the past few days. It appears as though summer has arrived early in Boston. Welcome back to our remaining furloughed Flight Attendants and those from Leaves of Absence. It is great to see you out on the line again.
It has been over a year of waiting, but London has officially taken flight. Just a few reminders regarding this IPD trip:
- Report time is 1 hour 15 min prior to departure.
- Current staffing is 9 FAs, the #1 is Purser Qualified for PBS/TTS/UBL/ETB transactions. However, Reserves can be assigned the Purser position in ROTA/ROTD. Should there be another Purser already on the trip, they will be moved up to the Purser position.
- Liquids must be 3oz or less and fit into a quart-size bag.
LHR Hotel
Please be sure to document any issues regarding the Hotel on the APFA Website. Fill out the Hotel and Transportation Feedback Form, which can be found on the main page. BOS BCR Julia Simpson is on the APFA Hotel Committee and has stepped up to address any issues that may arise with these accommodations. In addition to the APFA Form, Julia is asking for FAs to email [email protected]Â as well.
While you were gone reminders & FAQs:
Passports
Please be sure to check your expiration dates. Passports must be carried with you at all times, even on Domestic sequences.
Onboard Service
Refer to your OSM in Comply 365 for the up-to-date service standards. As of June 1, 2021, Main Cabin service begins at 250 miles.
Safety Demo
The FAA exemption has ended as of June 1, 2021. We are now back to our pre-COVID Demonstration, donning the life vest.
Professional Standards
The APFA Professional Standards is a voluntary, confidential service offering members the opportunity to resolve conflicts or concerns without management involvement. Please feel free to reach out to our APFA National Professional Standards Representative – Jillian Bocenda (847)828-1431 or email [email protected].
Contacting your APFA BOS Base Reps
While we do have a Facebook & Email Group for disseminating information to the Base, please be sure to contact APFA HDQ, Amy or Kelli directly for issues that need to be addressed in a timely manner. Also, when sending screenshots, refer to CCI for your HI1, HI2, HI3, etc. Again, this provides more essential and useful information than Crew Portal.
Please continue to look out for and take care of one another. Fly safe and stay healthy.
In Solidarity,
Amy & Kelli
