Good Day CLT Flight Attendants,
Back by Popular Demand – Reserve Class
Hosted by Charles Starks co-hosted by Scott Hazlewood and Frank Cagle
We will be hosting a virtual Reserve class via ZOOM on June 26th from 12 noon to 4pm. This is a comprehensive class that will cover everything reserve. You can join as you please. To sign up, send a non-company email to [email protected] or [email protected]. If you have signed up for one of our virtual classes before, there is no need to send an email, we will send an invitation to everyone on our email list. The invitation will be sent before the class and will have an attached handout you can follow and take notes. We are looking forward to seeing you.
The Accurate Standby List
When you check in for a standby shift and want to see who else is on the shift, you can check at the crew service center for the current list of standbys. This is pulled from the DECs system and much like a regular trip, you don’t know who is actually on a sequence until check in. Keep in mind, assignments off standby are in inverse seniority order but are also done by legalities.
APFA Live Chat
We try and field all calls and inquires to our local number immediately. Sometimes we have multiple calls that come in at once, or we have other meetings, and we are forced to return calls later. If it’s after hours, you have a question and need an immediate response, you can utilize the Live Chat feature on the APFA home page. Go to APFA.org. The live chat feature is in an orange icon in the lower right hand corner. Click on the button to get started and begin a dialog with one of the reps. APFA Live Chat is now available on weekends and holidays from 0900 to 1700 (CST). APFA Live Chat is available in the evenings Mon- Fri 1500 to 2300 (CST).
July PBS Bid Results
As you can see, the Company set the line average at 83:57 and used the flex credit window to raise our monthly PBS Max to 91 hours. This stretched the range for lines from 71 to 91 hours. Our final line average was 82:57. Our Reserve count was set at 545 and lowered to 542.
We are continuing to monitor reserve usage and track UBL trip awards. The high number of Reserves and the inefficiencies of the current system are placing the Charlotte flight attendants at a disadvantage.
