Quito Ecuador (UIO) Pay Protections

All,

I am pleased to report that all UIO cancellations will be pay protected. They will be added to the COVID pay protection list on Friday. To access the list, go to the Crew Resources tab on the Flight Service Website and click on the Scheduling tab. All other cancellations that are not weather or maintenance-related will be reviewed to determine if they are COVID-related.

As a reminder, do NOT perform any ETB transactions, including trades over the calendar days of any pay-protected sequence. This will negate the pay protection. I cannot emphasize this enough as each month, I receive calls from Flight Attendants who have lost their pay protection due to an ETB transaction over their pay-protected trip. You may only double-dip through Company time (TTS/UBL).

The XI initial removal code representing a full sequence cancellation will be updated by Pay Compensation to reflect the pay code XF. Please give this a week or so for Pay Compensation to add the XF pay code as they have to review each cancellation manually. You can also send in a Direct Connect if you choose to create a paper trail, although this is not necessary.
