August 2021 Staffing and Allocations
All,
For August, Miami will see a 3% decrease in total block hours as compared to July. We are down about 40% from August of 2019. There will be a major schedule change on August 17th in which the system will experience a 7% reduction heading into Fall. This is due to equipment downgrades and the pull-down of seasonal flying.
Currently, Miami has 282 daily departures, down from 340 in 2019. The plan is to have 341 daily departures with 20% more seats than 2019 with increased wide-body flying in November. American has indicated that it will aggressively protect its market share from airlines such as Spirit and Southwest, who plan to expand into Miami in October. This is good news for our base.
Below are the scheduled return dates for IPD flying:
- GIG: October 7th daily RT service.
- EZE: October 7th 2nd daily RT service.
- GRU: October 7th 2nd daily RT service.
- LHR: October 24th 2nd daily RT service. (Projected)
- CDG: October 30th daily RT service.
- MVD: December 16th daily RT service.
Here are the staffing numbers and trip compositions:
Total block hours for August 2021: 139,410
- MIA: 124,432
- FLL: 6,177
- PBI: 2,833
- MCO: 3,382
