Cancellation of All EVLOAs

The Company confirmed the rumors about recalling Flight Attendants from Extended Voluntary Leaves of Absence (EVLOAs) via a mobileCCI message on July 15th. Over 3,000 colleagues are in the process of deciding to come back in November, December or Resign/Retire from American Airlines. The EVLOA Return Ballot may be found by clicking here. The ballot will close on July 29th at 1200 (CDT). If a ballot is not submitted, the Flight Attendant will be assigned to return in either November or December.

The Phoenix base will be welcoming back 170 to our ranks, all of which will be Reserve eligible. Being Reserve eligible does not automatically mean they will be on Reserve. A Flight Attendant is only “drafted” into Reserve duty if their seniority is reached.

You may view the complete list here.The CCI message indicated that approximately two-thirds of those returning would need to attend training. Please be patient with the Training Support Desk while those returning are assigned training in September and October.

APFA Leadership has reached out to the Company regarding Educational Leaves. If you are a recalled Flight Attendant currently attending in-person classes, please reach out to your FSM for what options may be available to you.

While we are happy to see more active Flight Attendants in PHX and flying increase, please be assured your base leadership continues to advocate for the return of our displaced Flight Attendants. They are always in our thoughts, and we vocalize for their return at every opportunity.
