January 2022 PBS Bidding Now Open
- PBS bidding opened today, Friday, December 10 at 1200 (CST) for January 2022 bidding.
- Bidding will close on Wednesday, December 15 at 1200 (CST).
- January 2022 PBS Awards will be viewable on Saturday, December 18 at 1200 (CST).
It is important to remember there may be dates you will be forced to cover, either as a Lineholder or as a Reserve, based on your seniority and legalities, as well as the legalities of other Flight Attendants. In PBS, we refer to those as Coverage Needed (CN) dates. For January, this historically happens on the 1st, continuing into the first few days of the month. We recommend you take this into account when inputting your bids. You may want to consider relaxing your bidding preferences in later layers to account for potential CN dates. For Lineholders, this could include backing yourself up by bidding trips in your later layers that would satisfy potential CN dates. For Reserves, this could include bidding for alternative days off in later layers.
During the LRD process, many of you may have “toggled” from Reserve to Lineholder for January. If you toggled to Lineholder and your status is still showing Reserve when PBS opens, there is a possibility you could be moved to Lineholder status during PBS processing. For this reason, we suggest backing yourself up by inputting both a Lineholder and Reserve bid.
Please remember to check your status prior to bidding in PBS. Your information can be found on the PBS Dashboard.
Also, please review if all the information on your Dashboard is correct including your aircraft qualifications, existing credit, training month and any other special qualifications you may have.
If the information is incorrect, please submit a PBS Dashboard Info Issue on Crew Portal > Links > Support Tab > Create New Form > System > PBS > Form Type > PBS Dashboard Info Issue.
For bidding Reserve off days, you start by clicking on the Reserve Tab on the navigation bar. The large calendar on the left side will show the number of Reserves which are needed each day according to planning’s calculation. If you accidentally bid for Reserve days off while under any other tab, your Reserve days off bid will not be processed.
