Brazil Now Requiring Proof of Vaccination
This afternoon, the company advised APFA that all destinations in Brazil will now require proof of COVID vaccination effective today. The Company immediately removed Flight Attendants who did not have proof of vaccination on record from sequences with Brazil flying that originate today, December 21st. They have agreed to process the remaining removals for December and January in two other phases. For trips originating December 22nd– December 24th, removals will be processed at approximately 12:00pm CT tomorrow (December 22nd). For trips originating December 25th– January 30th, removals will occur on December 24th at approximately 12:00pm CT. The company has not agreed to pay protections for these removals.
Processing these removals in multiple phases will allow those with trips originating December 22nd and beyond to submit proof of vaccination if you haven’t already done so. You may access the vaccine verification form in Comply365. The company has been processing vaccine verification submissions very quickly, so if you wish to submit proof of vaccination to avoid losing any trips, we encourage you to do so right away. Affected Flight Attendants may also use the next few days to drop or trade trips in TTS/UBL and ETB to avoid automatic removal.
This also means that effective immediately, Flight Attendants who don’t currently have their vaccinated status recorded will be restricted from being awarded or assigned Brazil flying in all the scheduling tools (E.g. ROTA, ROTD, TTS, UBL & ETB).
This news of this new requirement for Brazil came with very little notice, and there was an immediate need to comply with the vaccination requirement. We continue to see many countries tighten the restrictions on both passengers and crew. As of today, vaccination is required for all destinations in Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Suriname, and Guyana, as well as Lima. Munich requires either vaccination or a negative COVID test.
For more detailed guidance on submitting proof of vaccination as well as verifying that your submission has been recorded, please refer to the APFA Hotline dated December 19th, 2021.
