The Association of Professional Flight Attendants Thanks FAA Administrator Steve Dickson for His Leadership
(Euless, TX) – APFA thanks Steve Dickson for his contributions to aviation and the flying public, particularly over the past three years during his service as FAA Administrator. Administrator Dickson has demonstrated a commitment to safety throughout numerous crises that have required strong regulatory responses and leadership, including oversight of the 737 MAX re-certification process.
In recent months, a surge of dangerous onboard behavior has impacted the safety of passengers and crew members. While APFA will continue to press for additional actions and strong consequences for unruly and violent behavior, including a federal no-fly list, we extend our thanks to Administrator Dickson for the many steps taken under his leadership such as the Zero Tolerance Policy, increased public awareness in airports, and more aggressive prosecutions.
“We know that current Deputy Administrator Brad Mims will continue to implement proactive measures and coordinate with the DOJ to strengthen consequences of misbehavior. We look forward to strong FAA leadership in all aspects of aviation safety in the coming months,” said APFA National President Julie Hedrick.
