3.22.22 – APFA Contract ACTION Team Update – Tuesday, March 22, 2022
Tuesday, March 22, 2022
To the new members of the Contract ACTION Team – Welcome! February was a month packed with no fewer than 62 Base Blitzes. Through the dedicated efforts of our Contract ACTION Team members we were able to have conversations with 5,000 Flight Attendants and of that 1,100+ signed up for the Contract ACTION Team. We were thrilled to see participation from all seniorities and varying levels of union experience, some for the very first time – working together to increase union involvement from our membership.
This is the time to engage our co-workers and stress the importance of signing up for the Contract ACTION Team. Our time is now! We must seize this opportunity to involve the entire membership and take steps to achieve lasting foundations of support and involvement. These campaigns are a key component to building the necessary involvement to encourage and support our Negotiations Committee as they fight for our demands at the bargaining table.
Starting now, we challenge each of you to sign up at least one co-worker for the Contract ACTION Team. Let those badge backers start the conversation on the crew van, jumpseat, or even your commute home.
The APFA pin is one of our best symbols of unity. As such, our next focus will be a pin campaign at all bases throughout the month of April. We are asking for volunteers to join us around the system to distribute APFA pins at the airports on the following days:
Times will vary by base – feel free to let us know you’re available to help get APFA Pins out on those days by clicking here.
Our Negotiating Committee draws strength from our numbers. The army we build will be the army that participates in ACTION events systemwide. It is through these displays of solidarity we send a clear message to management that we will attack with ACTION when provoked at the bargaining table. The best way to build our movement is to stay informed so we are ready when our Negotiations Committee makes the call for us to take ACTION.
In Solidarity,
APFA Contract ACTION Team
