Updates Required for iPhone EFB
This evening, Flight Service sent a CCI message informing Flight Attendants currently using the new iPhone EFB of the requirement to accomplish three updates prior to reporting for your next sequence. These include updates to the most recent iOS version 15.4 as well as the MyFlight and FA Reports apps.
This represents a change to how we have received updates to the Android tablets. On those devices, the updates are pushed by the Company and occur automatically as we sync our tablets. The Company tells us updates to the iPhone EFB will be required frequently as Apple routinely pushes the latest versions of iOS.
We have asked the Company to clearly communicate and clarify the timeline of any required updates. In tonight’s CCI, they indicate the download and installation process may take more than an hour and should be done while connected to Wi-Fi. Please read the Company CCI message carefully for instructions on performing the required updates.
The FAA requires each Flight Attendant EFB be updated prior to sign in with the latest iOS version as well as the IFM and required apps. To make sure you are aware of required updates, best practice is to stay in the habit of checking your CCI messages prior to reporting for each sequence with enough time to accomplish these tasks.
If you are experiencing any issues or have any questions about your iPhone EFB, please reach out to the help desk at (800) 203-5949.
