An Update on the Federal Mask Mandate

Effective April 18, 2022, face coverings will no longer be required for employees or customers on domestic flights or at U.S. airports. Per local regulations, face coverings may be required when traveling to specific domestic or international destinations. American is in the process of updating all of the destination information in Comply. Customers and employees who choose to continue wearing a face covering may do so.

We fully recognize that enforcement of the mandate has placed an incredible burden on Flight Attendants. Thank you for all that you’ve done to keep American flying through these challenging times.
