Labor Notes is a meeting of Labor Leaders which serves as the voice for union activists who are “working to put the movement back in the labor movement” since inception in 1979. The conference will include rank-and-file union members, local union leaders, and activists engaged in the fight to promote and preserve the labor movement.

As we have seen in the airline industry and industries across the country, corporations are circumnavigating and reinterpreting hard-fought contractual provisions on a daily basis. Unions, especially smaller entities, are utilizing all of their resources to battle huge corporations in an effort to force compliance with our bargaining agreements, and the results have not always been favorable. While we are encouraged by organizing at places like Amazon and Starbucks, we cannot ignore the fact that union membership has dwindled from previous generations.

The Labor Notes Conference will include a series of workshops and trainings designed to empower union members and instill a sense of working together to fight back. This fight will not be won in isolation, and we cannot afford to continue losing ground as giant corporations continue to merge and double-down on their assault on Labor. The Labor landscape continues to become less worker-focused, and we need to do all that we can to protect and promote workers.
We will share more information from the 2022 Labor Notes Conference next week.
