July Korean Speaker PBS Misaward Settlement

We have reached a settlement with the company regarding the July Korean Speaker PBS Award for DFW-ICN-DFW (281/280). The settlement will compensate Korean Speakers who were miswarded due to the violation of JCBA Section 15.A.4.

This settlement also includes an agreement on the Korean (KO) and Chinese Mandarin (CM) Speaker complement for DFW-ICN-DFW (281/280) and DFW-ICN-PVG-ICN-DFW (127/128) for August and beyond. This part of the agreement will remain in effect as long as equipment and/or FOS programming limitations prevent an alternative solution.

July KO Speaker PBS Misaward:

• If you are a KO Speaker and should have held a different PBS award as a result of the contract violation, you will be paid the greater of your actual award or your corrected award and/or a combination of IPD and Speaker premiums.
• Please see the Settlement Agreement for the list of impacted Speakers and the flight pay and premiums being paid out. This payment will be included in your August mid-month paycheck.
• Please note: some Speakers will not receive compensation since the corrected award did not produce a net gain for all KO Speakers.

KO/CM Speaker complement for August and onward:

• For the August bid month and any subsequent month where equipment and/or FOS programming limitations prevent an alternative, we have agreed to the following chart and note showing the speaker complement for ICN/PVG trips in PBS as well as the other scheduling systems (TTS/UBL/ETB/ROTA/ROTD).

As we shared in the DFW Base Brief on Saturday, June 18, 2022, the company failed to brief APFA and consult on these changes until after PBS bidding for July had closed. We are pleased to provide a settlement that compensates Flight Attendants who were harmed by this contract violation.
