October 2022 PHL Staffing and Allocations

October does look a little better than September. There is an increase in block hours in the base as well as the overall network. VCE is being extended until 10/27, and MAD will start up again on 10/29. We will start to see the seasonal IPD pull down, starting with ATH, which will end on 10/5. That is followed by BCN, LIS, and VCE on 10/27. We will also see the pull-down of one LHR flight on 10/28.

ODAN flyers will be very happy with the increase in ODANs: BDL, BOS, PIT, PVD, and PWM all will be daily departures.

Our block hours for October are 123,370, with PIT having 4,771. This is an increase over September of 1,701 hours.

LRD is now open with a projection of 355 reserves. This number should reduce slightly based on the speakers that may be pulled up to cover speaker requirements.

The system line average is projected at 81.7 hours, the reserve percentage systemwide is at 19.2%. There will be no VLOAs offered for October.

Flight Attendant Hiring

In October, there will be 88 new Flight Attendants beginning their careers at AA. None of this group will be coming to PHL because we didn’t clear the transfer list for October. However, we did clear our list for November, so we might see Flight Attendants from the classes coming out in November.
