9.06.22 – The APFA Dues Department is Going Paperless… Are You Dues Current?

The APFA Dues Department is Going Paperless

In an effort to reduce time, costs, and paper, APFA members who have requested direct billing in lieu of payroll deductions and members who are in dues arrears will no longer receive dues statements via USPS mail after October 31, 2022.

If you have an email address on file, you will eventually receive electronic notifications of dues statements via email and/or text message.

If you do not have an email address on file, please visit the ‘My Account‘ section of the APFA website or email [email protected] to update your preferred personal email address. (AA email addresses will no longer be accepted).

Are You Dues Current?

If you are currently in dues arrears, you will receive an “alert” letter via certified mail or via hand delivery (APFA Policy Manual – Section 2.A.3.) with your outstanding balance and how it will impact your employment with American Airlines. We will begin sending “alert” letters for the current accounts in arrears on Wednesday, September 7th.

To prevent the total arrears amount from reaching the levels it has in the past, any new account that reaches 60 days arrears will automatically generate an “alert” letter.

If you are in a dues arrears status and receive an alert letter, you will have 30 days from the date of the letter to settle your balance.

How do I check to see if I owe a balance for dues? How do I make a payment?

Payments can be made online or by calling the Dues Department at 817-540-0108 x8151, or [email protected]. You may also mail in a check to 1004 W. Euless Blvd, Euless, TX 76040.

Online Instructions: First, sign onto APFA.org and click on ‘Account’ in the upper right-hand corner:

Once you’ve signed into your account, click on ‘balance’:

Once you click on ‘balance’, you’ll see both your balance and the window in which to make an online credit or debit card payment:

Why aren’t dues being taken out of my paycheck?

In most cases, APFA does not have a signed membership card and dues check off authorization form (JCBA Section 35.L) on file. Therefore, dues are not being deducted from your paycheck. To activate or re-activate payroll deduction, you must submit a Membership Application online (https://www.apfa.org/membershipapplication).

Why do I continue to receive a bill/statement in the mail if dues are being deducted from my paycheck?

Although your current dues are being deducted from your paycheck, you are receiving a bill/statement for prior dues that APFA was unable to collect from your prior paycheck(s).

Am I able to pay my past dues via payroll deduction?

No. Per JCBA Section 35.P., back dues may not be paid via payroll deduction. Therefore, payments must be made via the APFA website or by calling the dues department.
