21st Anniversary of September 11th
Over the last three days, APFA and members of APA, AFA-CWA, ALPA, and other Labor Unions were united to honor colleagues who perished in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Twenty-five Flight Attendants, eight Pilots, three Customer Service Agents, and active and retired American Airlines and United Airlines employees died that day. These brave employees and retirees were the first responders. They fought to protect our country until the end.
Washington, D.C. – September 9th
On Friday, a remembrance ceremony took place at the U.S. Capitol and U.S. Pentagon, honoring those we lost.
New York, NY – September 10th
On Saturday, a wreath-laying ceremony was held at the 9/11 Memorial at the North Pool.
Grapevine, TX – September 11th
Yesterday, a Day of Remembrance Ceremony took place in Texas to remember those who passed on September 11, 2001 due to the terrorist attacks.
New York, NY – September 11th
On Sunday morning, a remembrance ceremony took place at the New York City 9/11 Memorial.
Shanksville, PA – September 11th
A ceremony was held to honor those lost on United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed in Shanksville, PA, after the heroic crewmembers and passengers successfully diverted the aircraft from its intended target, presumably the US Capitol. The First Lady of the United States, Dr. Jill Biden, and her sister, Bonny, a United Airlines Flight Attendant, were in attendance.
Boston, MA – September 11th
The Boston Base reflects upon and honors the crew members that we lost on that tragic day.
San Diego, CA – September 11th
On Sunday, APFA current and retired members participated in a ceremony in San Diego to honor our fallen heroes.
We honor those we lost on American Airlines Flight 11, United Airlines Flight 175, American Airlines Flight 77, and United Airlines Flight 93, as well as all of the first responders and victims of the terrorist attacks. We continue to remember their bravery and heroism and pledge to Never Forget.
