Daylight Saving Time Ends Tomorrow Morning
It’s time to “Fall Back.” Daylight Saving Time ends here in the United States when we return to standard time at 2 am tomorrow.
In 1916, during World War I, Germany became the first country to implement Daylight Saving Time. Today, approximately 70 countries observe Daylight Saving Time.
In the United States, Daylight Saving Time began in 1918. However, it is not observed in all fifty states. Hawaii, Arizona (except for the state’s Navajo Nation), and U.S. Territories like Puerto Rico and Guam remain at the same time year-round.
Daylight Saving Time will return on Sunday, March 12, 2023.
On March 15 of this year, the United States Senate voted unanimously to pass the Sunshine Protection Act. The bill now awaits a House of Representatives vote. The bill would make daylight saving time the new, permanent time as of Sunday, November 5, 2023. Should the bill pass the House, clocks will spring forward in March and never fall back again.
